magnesium turnings 是什么物质，在合成的原文里面是这么一段话：
Phenyldithioacetic acid was synthesised using the following method. Benzyl chloride (20 g) was added dropwise to a mixture of magnesium turnings (3.75 g) in dry diethyl ether (100 ml).Following the
vigorous initial reaction, the solution was refluxed for 3 h to ensure
complete reaction. The mixture was then chilled and carbon disulfide (12.0g) was added dropwise over 30 min, and then the mixture stirred at 0 °C for the following 2 h. The mixture was then poured onto ice-water (300 ml) and the aqueous portion collected following three washes with diethyl ether. A final layer of diethyl ether was added, and the mixture acidified using 30% aqueous HCl.

我以前做实验一般用镁条，效果也还好，或许也可以使镁粉吧，没试过，呵呵

我们一般用砂纸擦至表面光亮

谢谢您，再请教一下，氯苯是不是也可以发生这样的反应，还有就是做这种反应时的条件是什么啊（比如是不是需要无水无氧），简易反应装置是否可以实现？以前没有做过，让您见笑了。

氯苯不能格氏试剂化，一般都是溴代苯。

各位可能看错了一点地方，文中的Benzyl chloride应该是氯苄，而不是氯苯。氯苄是很好的格式化试剂，所以文中所说的就是格式试剂的制备。至于magnesium turnings，应该是镁带的意思。在实际操作中，由于镁粉的表面易氧化，难处理，所以用镁带比较多。而magnesium turnings的字面意思也倾向于镁带，：）

magnesium turnings是镁屑的意思。苄氯较活泼，用镁屑应该问题不大。不过，对于难引发的氯代物做格氏试剂，最好还是用镁条。先除去表面的氧化物，然后剪成丝，这样容易引发。

镁屑。苄氯较为活泼，可以不用引发。如果没有反应，加入几颗单质碘即可。

是镁屑，由于镁屑是用刨子打出来，呈卷曲状，所以叫turning！
