how to say 版主in English?

another name of 版主 is 斑竹, but never call the 斑竹 here by mottled bamboo. There is no such name in English, unless you call bamboo, a kind of plant. Sometimes we find someone use master, preside, boss or even leader and header when posting message in some bbs pages. That’s wrong! But what?

The proper name of版主 is moderator. What is moderator? Maybe it is not familiar for us Chinese. Moderator is one who presides over a meeting, forum, or debate. And meanwhile, a moderator is One that arbitrates or mediates or an officer who presides over a synod or general assembly of the Presbyterian Church. So, the most proper name of版主, we say, is moderator.
