Abstract of JP 57024348 (A)

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound useful as an intermediate for dye inexpensively, in high yield, and with suppressing the formation of diurea compounds as by-products, by reacting an acid salt of a diamine with a cyanate in an aqueous solution of an inorganic salt. CONSTITUTION:An acid salt of a diamine (e.g., m-phenylenediamine, 4-methyl- 1,3-diaminobenzene, etc.) shown by the formula I (X is H, Cl, methyl, or methoxy) is reacted with a cyanate (e.g., sodium salt, potassium salt, etc.) in an aqueos medium dissolving an inorganic salt (e.g., sodium salt, potassium salt, etc. of hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, nitric acid, etc.) at 5-40 deg.C, preferably 15-25 deg.C in pH2-4, to give the desired compound shown by the formula II (A and B are H or -CONH2, being different each other).
